Our target audience
We target our products mostly to small time farmers: dacha enthusiasts, hobbyist gardeners, small farm owners.
Orton products would be especially attractive to those land owners who operate in the so-called risky farming zone where summers are short, late and gloomy, days are short and prolonged rains are common. Orton products ensure good harvests even in those adverse conditions.
Some of them supply crops with plant hormones, growth regulators that plants themselves can’t generate in the amount they need. Others make crops more resilient to adverse factors like diseases or pests. Still others fertilize the soil.
Company history

Orton company history started in 1993 Ivan Novikov, Orton founder and irreplaceable leader, assembled a team of best experts from research institutions that used to be ruthlessly dissolved at that time.
To this day, Orton is perfecting, testing, developing and implementing in-house solutions based on ideas offered by research institutes from the USSR times. Mr. Novikov oversees every new product development and test personally.
A retired military, former air guidance control officer, a radiotech academy graduate, he used his testing method development experience to create his pet project Orton.
Despite his advanced age, he’s still full of life, energy and plans. As a long-time gardener and bee-keeper himself, he knows by heart the issues hobbyist farmers face.
And as a former Army officer, he can set up a crisp operation that would keep to its mission without fail. The mission is: to make natural and effective yield improvement and plant health protection products readily available to each gardener or dacha owner. The company, by the way, was named after the Orton river in Kemerovo region, the land of Mr. Novikov’s birth.
Starting with Zavyaz in 1997, the company has already developed a number of natural products that are unequalled in Russia or abroad.
They improve yields and provide gardeners with early and generous harvests. On top of that, there are also remedies that battle fungi, bacteria, harmful insects, as well as improve plant immunity against them.
In almost 30 years, Orton developed products for berries and grapes, soil composting substances, fertilizers, including therapeutic ones, and plenty of other products.
Today, we keep on working on our research and product line expansions.
Corporate principles and goals
Orton’s main principle is to only use natural components to make our products:- micronutrients, amino acids, spores of fungi and bacteria antagonistic to pests and pathogens (for protection products);
- phytohormones (for plant hormones and setting stimulants);
- resins and propolis (for sealing products).
Etcetera, etcetera, depending on the product’s application.
All our products are invariably tested for efficacy and safety. Orton has its own research base for initial tests of new products.
After that, testing continues in leading agricultural research institutions. Our products undergo mandatory testing for human, animal, fish, bird, insect and environment safety.
Orton products are always affordable. A pack of Zavyaz ripening stimulant, Obereg immunity stimulant or Phytobacterin fungicide, as well as many other products cost as much as a couple of bus rides.

Orton’s principles are focused on achieving our priority objective: give everyone a chance to enjoy tasty, natural and healthy home-grown fruits and vegetables.
Research base

Orton has in-house laboratories and an experimental greenhouse located in Greater Moscow. That’s where every new product is developed and field-tested.
Besides, Orton partners with leading Russian agriculture research institutions, including: Lomonosov MSU and Russian State agrarian university – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy.
Based on test results and expert opinions, Orton products are licensed by the Agriculture Ministry. That means that the product in question has passed all tests and certifications and is allowed to be sold in Russia.
Zinaida Pavlova is the Head of R&D at Orton. In the past she used to be a research fellow and apprentice of G. Muromtsev, a leading Soviet biologist who contributed greatly to studying plant growth substances.
Geography of operations
Orton products are popular in Russia and some former Soviet countries, including Kazakhstan and Belarus.
